I'm a scrapbooking wannabe!
I am you know, a scrapbooking wannabe. I pretend that I buy scrapbooking supplies for Vanessa and Rachel, but really it is just an excuse for me to get my hands on some of those great scrapbooking accessories. I don't really want to do scrapbook layouts though, I keep looking at them and thinking how could I use these with fabric and sewing?
Last time I let the girls shop at our favourite scrapbooking shop Anna's Craftcupboard (no affiliation just a happy customer) there were a few things that just happened to fall into the shopping cart for me. Of course being a scrapbooking wannabe I haven't actually used them yet. One of the things to fall into my shopping cart was a bird cage.
I had this idea to make wall art using Lantern Bloom and scrapbook chipboard bird cages. So I told Rachael, who is a scrapbooker, about my idea and she took the idea, a fat quarter of lantern bloom and ran with it. This is what Rachael came up with.

And now I am even more inspired to mix sewing, fabric and scrapbooking accessories.
If you are a sewing wannabee this is a great project as you don't really need a sewing machine. You could hand stitch around the bird cages rather machine stitch and it would look great.
You will find Rachael's tutorial here.
Thanks Rachael for taking my idea and turning it into reality.

It was honour to try to make the dream a reality for you. Pop over to my blog to see what I did with the leftover fabric!!
I could have written that first paragraph! I think we should just jump in and do something.
