In My Garden

Playing in the garden - that would have you all thinking that I had been weeding and planting and all such sort of sensible garden activities, but no, I was trying to take some photographs.  I needed some new photographs for a magazine article and the sun just was not on my side this weekend.  I usually set up for photographs on my kitchen bench but it was way too dark.  So outside I went and set up there and finally got some photographs that were okay.

While I was there I discovered that the parlan I had chosen as a backdrop to try and bounce some light on the subject worked perfectly as a design wall.  So I thought I would snap some photographs for you of a Block of the Month my sister Susan has been working on for me. I know I have mentioned this before, but that day job of Susan’s does get in the way of her stitching time, but it is looking beautiful.

We have had quite a few new Block of the Months on the go this year and as you can imagine all that cutting and packing takes a lot of time.  So apart from the time it takes to make a sample we decided to stagger new BOM’s so that we could make sure we had plenty of time for cutting and packing.

We look forward to releasing  In My Garden by Annie Downs of Hatched and Patched Block of the Month in August.  While we finish putting it all together here are some snapshots of some of the blocks and showing the beautiful fabrics we have used.

This is my favourite block - it came alive with the addition of the embroidery on the fence.

Yes, I love that fence…

If you would like to register you interest in making this stunning Block of the Month send me an email at sarah @ quiltfabricdelights.com.au to put your name down.

Don’t let the needleturn aspect put you off this quilt, it will look just as beautiful in your favourite appliqué method.
