I am an occupational therapist by day, and a keen sewist, quilter, and general all round crafter at night. I first started sewing as a child and haven’t stopped since. I have always enjoyed project design and started sharing my designs with others 2 years ago, after starting a sewing/craft/baking blog with my 13 year old daughter.
I was Craft Editor for Silver magazine (Western Australian Lifestyle Magazine) and had 12-16 craft projects published in each issue between November 2008 – October 2009. The Cookbook Du Jour (2008), Jet Media features 18 of my original recipes. Pretty Little Presents (2009) Lark Books features four of my original sewing projects including Jewellery Roll; Lingerie Portfolio; Notebook Cover; and Travel Document Wallet. Sweet Nothings (2009), Lark Books features design my for Sleep Shorts and matching appliquéd tank. The Spring Sissue of Stitch Magazine (2010), Interweave Press will feature two of my designs. The upcoming book Craft Hope (2010) by Lark Books will feature a sewing project for a charity organisation.
A number of my tutorials have been featured on Craft, Whip-Up, Sew Mama Sew, Craft Gossip, and One Pretty Thing.
As a long time reader of Lisa and Sarah's blog A Spoonful of Sugar I am honoured to have Lisa join our Creative Team. If you enjoy this project, be sure to look up some of the publications that Lisa has projects in. Lisa has designed a wonderful project, Knit One, Purl One.
This would be a lovely project to make as a Mother's Day gift, and if your mum is not a knitter it would work wonderfully as a recipe folder or sewing folder.
I am just waiting on the printable fabric to arrive and we will put together a kit for you to make this beautiful project, including the fabrics, tape measure trim, lace and a sheet of printable fabric. If you can't wait the fabrics are from Oz by Sanae together with a cream micro (butter cream) and green pin dot from A Day in the Country.
You will find the tutorial for both projects here.
