Hatched & Patches comes to QFD

I'm thrilled to be now stocking Hatched and Patched patterns and books.  We brought a few of these back with us from the Quilt Market and I have listed these on the Quilt Fabric Delights website.

Among the patterns are two great Christmas patterns - only 24 days to go.  Yikes!  I'm definitely not ready, must find my sewing mojo to create a few gifts.

or you could buy a copy of A Christmas Story which has some great Christmas projects.

I also wanted to show you Anni's new Block of the Month In My Garden - this is available as a pattern only straight away, or we will be offering this as a traditional Block of Month with fabric in March next year.  A sample is being stitched and the fabrics should all be here by March 2011.

I'm thinking that we may even offer this in slightly brighter (QFD Style) fabrics as well.  Will just need to sweet talk my sample stitcher (my sister) to do a bit more sample stitching to show you what it would look like in brighter colours.

You can see all the Hatched and Patched patterns here.  If there is a pattern or book of Anni's that we are not stocking that you would like us to order for you, just let me know.  We are blessed with such amazing and prolific designers here in Australia it is not possible to keep all of their designs in stock all of the time.

Butterfly Garden BOM by Leanne's House

Due to popular request we have put together a kit for Leanne Beasley's Butterfly Garden Block of the Month.

Here is a collage to show you the fabrics we have chosen to do the Quilt Fabric Delights' version in.

Here is a photograph of Leanne's original quilt if you haven't already seen it, so that you can see how beautiful the finished quilt it is.

Thank you to my sister Susan for stitching up the sample blocks for me.  I love this quilt  for many reasons, but it is also a great opportunity to use so many of the beautiful fabrics that you love.  We had such fun choosing the fabrics together, especially since it is not often that Susan and I are in the same state, let alone the same room.

If you would like to join this Block of the Month you can find it on our website here.  The first block will be ready for posting on the 1st of September 2010.

Month 1 - My Garden by Lynette Anderson

Great news!  Month 1 of Lynette Andersons great new Button of the Month has arrived, so we will be able to get it out earlier to you than the 1st of July.

Lynette and her staff have worked hard and put together very clever packaging for these buttons,.  This means that I can reduce the postage charge.  I ordered some some special sized padded bags so that I can post the buttons to you safely, they have taken a little longer than I expected to arrive, but did finally arrive today.  Over the next few days I will be sending out the first Month's buttons and you will see a charge on your credit card for the difference between your deposit and the cost of the first month's instalment.  If you are paying by bank deposit, I will get in touch with you as soon as I can to let you know the new postage cost.

I am sure that you would all rather spend your dollars on fabric and not postage, so bear with me as I set all your payments up.

Lynette has used quite dark, muddy fabrics in her finished quilt, but since I don't usually stock that style I've quickly stitched up the first block (because I had the pattern over the weekend) with slightly brighter threads and I am going to use Hunky Dory fabrics for my quilt.  If you don't want to go that bright then I would suggest perhaps Celebration for a soft, pretty look  or Blush would be another great option.

You need a total of 12 fat 8ths to complete the quilt.  If you would like me to put together a fat eighth bundle and co-ordinating threads for you, just let me know.

We still have a few places left if you would like to join in - My Garden Button of the Month Block of the Month

If you want to be surprised when you open your parcel, stop now and don't read any further.....

Lynette Anderson My Garden

Just a thought - there are many of you doing this Block of the Month through Quilt Fabric Delights - it would be wonderful for both myself and all the other ladies making this quilt to follow your progress and see the colours and fabrics you choose to use.  So I'd love you to leave a comment and let us know your blog address so we can follow your progress.

I'll try and finish my first block and show you what I have done.  It is quite different to Lynette's colours but I am really pleased with it.
