In Full Bloom

We are thrilled to showcase another Block of the Month Quilt coming to Quilt Fabric Delights in early 2012.  In Full Bloom is Lynette Anderson’s  new sweet six part block of the month.

Lynette hase packed the patterns into smaller size pattern bags to keep the cost down and each month the pattern will contain two of the little garden designs. Lynette has used a rather lovely yarn dye from Lecien for the stitchery background - the texture it adds to the design is just lovely. This quilt uses the fabrics from ‘Secret Garden’ collection designed by Lynette  for Lecien.

We are just waiting on the arrival of the Secret Garden fabrics so that we can start cutting kits for this Block of the Month.  The fabrics are expected to arrive from Japan sometime in January.  You are welcome to sign up now so that you do not miss out.

Of course, if you can’t wait and would like to make this sweet quilt with other fabrics the pattern is available straight away, either per month or you may purchase the full set of patterns now.

Blueberry Botanical

Amanda from Sea Breeze Quilts has been working away these past few months with a fat quarter bundle of Blueberry Crumb Cake by Blackbird Designs, some beautiful Cottage Garden Threads and paper piecing papers, designing her first Block of the Month - Blueberry Botanical.

The quilt is now all finished and Amanda is working on the last details for the pattern.  Quilt Fabric Delights will be offering Blueberry Botanical as a Block of the Month starting in early 2012.  I thought that you  may like to see it, just incase your loved ones are wondering what to buy you for Christmas, and you could suggest they sign you up.

Blueberry Botanical features machine piecing, paper piecing, stitchery and appliqué (you can use your favourite appliqué method).

As soon as I have a price calculcated I will let you know, but if you don’t want to miss out, please send me an email and let me know that you would like to put your name on the list.

And I think a huge congratulations to Amanda on creating such a stunning first Block of the Month Quilt design.  I can’t wait to see what other designs Amanda creates in 2012.

In My Garden

Playing in the garden - that would have you all thinking that I had been weeding and planting and all such sort of sensible garden activities, but no, I was trying to take some photographs.  I needed some new photographs for a magazine article and the sun just was not on my side this weekend.  I usually set up for photographs on my kitchen bench but it was way too dark.  So outside I went and set up there and finally got some photographs that were okay.

While I was there I discovered that the parlan I had chosen as a backdrop to try and bounce some light on the subject worked perfectly as a design wall.  So I thought I would snap some photographs for you of a Block of the Month my sister Susan has been working on for me. I know I have mentioned this before, but that day job of Susan’s does get in the way of her stitching time, but it is looking beautiful.

We have had quite a few new Block of the Months on the go this year and as you can imagine all that cutting and packing takes a lot of time.  So apart from the time it takes to make a sample we decided to stagger new BOM’s so that we could make sure we had plenty of time for cutting and packing.

We look forward to releasing  In My Garden by Annie Downs of Hatched and Patched Block of the Month in August.  While we finish putting it all together here are some snapshots of some of the blocks and showing the beautiful fabrics we have used.

This is my favourite block - it came alive with the addition of the embroidery on the fence.

Yes, I love that fence…

If you would like to register you interest in making this stunning Block of the Month send me an email at sarah @ quiltfabricdelights.com.au to put your name down.

Don’t let the needleturn aspect put you off this quilt, it will look just as beautiful in your favourite appliqué method.

Christmas Fun - 2011 Button Club from Lynette Anderson

Are you receiving the My Garden, Lynette Anderson's 2010 Button Club?  Or maybe you were one of those who disappointed and missed out.  Well the good news is that there is another Button Club on the way.

The 2011 Button Club is called Christmas Fun and block designs include Santa, christmas trees, snowmen, gingerbread men and more.  It features a combination of stitchery, applique and some simple pieced star blocks enhanced by beautiful handpainted buttons.

Santa Fun will commence in March 2011 and I believe the price will be similar to My Garden, so around $10-12.00 plus postage and will be for 8 months.  As with My Garden there are limited places, so if you would like to take part, please email me at sarah @ quiltfabricdelights.com.au to reserve your place.

I will be putting together a fabric and thread pack also - as soon as I have done that I will let you know so you can decide whether you would like to receive this with your first button/pattern.
