Mini Makings

I am slowing getting back into the swing of things after my time off at Christmas.  I must say it is really hard to work while the rest of the family are home on holidays.  It is wonderful to have their company though.  I have just listed some new patterns that Natalie Ross released late 2011.

Natalie has introduced Mini Makings to her pattern range - these patterns are fantastic value at only $6.60 each.  Just the thing for summertime stitching for my Southern Hemisphere readers or dare I suggest you could get started now on your 2012 Christmas gifts and make 2012 a handmade Christmas.

You will find all of the Mini Makings’ patterns here.

Natalie also released another of her gorgeous and fun picture quilts - this one is called Happy Happy Garden.  Who could not be happy making and then admiring this quilt.

You will find Happy Happy Garden here and if you would like me to put a kit together for you in bright, happy fabrics, just ask.

Inspired Stitches 2011 - Part 6

Are you still with me?  I hope so, there’s lots of fun still to be had an a retreat.

After we saw all the finished projects from Inspired Stitches 2010 we asked for any other show and tell, it did take a little peaking under the tables for those who were are little shy.

Lynne brought her beautiful Spice of Life Bag made in Whimsy to show me.

Amanda, brought along her Little Bluebirds quilt top - Janelle was thrilled to see this.

Sandy brought her Frilly Dilly bag

The next two are also Janelle Wind designs - they are from her Pieces of Me book.

Marie and Chris from QLD - thanks for coming all that way Chris - I hope those girls on Table 2 were not too rowdy for you.

Ros flew in all the way from WA to join us and brought along lots of show and tell.

Twas the Night before Christmas by Helen Stubbings

and Nice People Nice Things

and Seasons by Gail Pan

Amanda also brought along her Seasons quilt

Sue brought along her finished Life is Beautiful quilt.  Sue did this as a Block of the Month put together by us here at Quilt Fabric Delights so it is even more pleasing to see it as a finished project.

There were lots of bags designed by Natalie Ross

and Wendy chose the fabrics for this project at Inspired Stitches 2010

and Sue brought her Hootie bag made during Let’s Stitch all the way from the Northern Territory.

So much talent in one room, you cannot help but be inspired.

We had one special show and tell but that was just for those who attended as it was a sneaky peek of Amanda’s projects for Christmas in July - let’s say there were lots of oohs and aahs over them.

I’ve one more post to write - because some ladies actually get some stitching done.  See you tomorrow.

Inspired Stitches 2011 - Part 2

So next is the bit you have been waiting for (other than the retail therapy of course, which starts the minute you walk in the door) the introduction of our guest tutors.

First up was Natalie Ross with her project Spring Market

and then it was Janelle’s turn with her project Giftables

of course with the cute flower headband, belt and scarf there had to be some modeling

and we thought there was going to be a floor show but Janelle was just showing us her hot pink tights…

back with Helen and Gail’s project next post

Inspired Stitches 2011 - Part 1

Have you ever wondered how a gathering style retreat works? Well if you had come to Inspired Stitches this year you would have been greeted at the door by Ally with a warm welcome.  Ally would then have directed you to your table.  Since it was cold and wet on the Saturday morning, you would have popped your umbrella by the door

and then turned around and this is what you would have seen

a showcase of beautiful samples from our Guest Designers Gail Pan, Helen Stubbings, Janelle Wind and Natalie Ross.

A Quilt Fabric Delights shop down the end

That’s Ally, one of my amazing helpers, making sure everything is looking good just before our guests arrived.

And on a closer look you will see pretty, decorated tables

with the essential lolly jar, thread basket and rubbish bin

and a close up of a rubbish bin because even they should look pretty

So now you are in the door take your seat and have a look through your goodie bag.  In your goodie bag you will find patterns for all of the projects, iron on transfers to save you time in tracing, starter fabric packs and gifts from Quilt Fabric Delights.

I’ll be back in the next post to introduce our wonderful designers and show you the projects they designed especially for the Inspired Stitches weekend.
